Watermark plus for mac4/10/2023 You want to protect your photos but you don't want the text to get in the way. An opacity slider enables the text to be partially hidden or at least made less noticeable. Click the colour chip and the macOS colour selector appears. The settings panel enables you to select the font and the size and underline. Click the dummy text and you can then enter your own copyright message or other text you want to use as a watermark. Dummy text is placed in the image and using the handles in the four corners, it can be dragged to where you need it, the size can be adjusted, and it can be rotated to any angle. Select Watermark and a Bulk Settings panel opens. However, if all you need is basic watermarking of photos in bulk, the Lite version is fine and it is a lot easier to use than a photo editor. The Pro version of the app is needed to use the other features. There are six functions in the sidebar and in the Lite version of the app, only the top one, Watermark, works. Several file formats are supported, including JPEG, TIFF, PNG, GIF and HEIC, which is used on recent iPhones. All the images that are added are displayed as a strip of thumbnails at the bottom of the window. Open a Finder window and you can drag and drop multiple photos on the the app from multiple folders or click the plus button to select them. PhotoBulk Lite opens a mostly empty and very dark window. The difference is that the free version just has basic watermarking features and the Pro version has extra functions that enable you to do much more with both the watermarks and the photos. There is a free Lite version and a (UK) £9.99 Pro version. PhotoBulk comes in two versions and both are in the Mac App Store. Watermarking is not the perfect solution to protecting your images, but it helps a lot and should be used if you are at all worried about someone using them without your permission. It should also be hard to erase using photo editing tools. The ideal position is somewhere in the middle of the image where it cannot be cropped out. You need to think about where to put the watermark and if it is right at the edge of the image it could be possible to crop the photo and remove it. Watermark text on images puts off people who steal photos without permission. It would be relatively easy to get the image taken down or even take legal action. If someone were to steal the image off a website or social network and use it themselves without your permission, it would be obvious to everyone that you are the copyright holder. Watermark text is often partially transparent and quite small and its purpose is to identify you as the owner of the image. What is a watermark?Ī watermark on a photo is basically just some text but it is presented in a slightly different way to the sort of text-on-photo that is used at the top of this article for example. What can you do? Watermark them! PhotoBulk is a handy macOS utility that makes the task easier. You want to show off your photos on the web or social sites but don't want people to steal them.
